Identify the Spanish Tense

(with an ar, er, and ir verb)

Take a minute to review all the Spanish tenses that you’ll learn in the course with 3 verbs – and er, er, and ir verb. The challenging game will only quizzes you randomly on 12 tenses at once. The goal is not to master this game now but to help you become familiar with all of the Spanish verb conjugations. If you do master this, you have a gift for Spanish or you’re a very hard worker!

  • Hablar (to speak)

    • Present Tense (I speak) – hablo
    • Present Perfect Tense (I have spoken) – he hablado
    • Preterite Tense (I spoke) – hablé
    • Imperfect Tense (I was speaking / I used to speak / I spoke daily) – hablaba
    • Future Tense (I will speak) – hablaré
    • Conditional Tense (I would speak) – hablaría
    • Present Subjunctive (It’s important that I speak) – hable
    • Imperfect Subjunctive (If I spoke) – hablara
    • Present Perfect Subjunctive (I hope that I have spoken) – haya hablado
    • Past Perfect (Pluperfect) Tense (I had spoken) – había hablado
    • Past (Preterite) Perfect Tense (I had spoken at a specific moment in the past) – hube hablado
    • Future Perfect Tense (I will have spoken) – habré hablado
    • Conditional Perfect Tense (I would have spoken) – habría hablado
    • Present Progressive Tense (I am speaking right now) – estoy hablando
    • Past Progressive Tense (I was speaking at a specific moment in the past) – estaba hablando

    Comer (to eat)

    • Present Tense (I eat) – como
    • Present Perfect Tense (I have eaten) – he comido
